Internal Lower Ground Floor Level to Pool, Gym and Sauna Area
- 6 no Glazed Doorset Elements
- 1 no Glazed large fixed screen element
- 1 no Glazed screen to light wall roof
The above elements were designed, drawn and manufactured as bespoke elements in keeping with the architect’s design brief for “Crittall Glazed Frameworks” with minimal site lines.
Due to the close proximity of the pool and sauna facilities, stainless steel tubular and angle section materials were used throughout to resist corrosion from the humid environment. The fabricated framework was then finished with a bronze metallic effect polyester powdercoat in keeping with the overall appearance of fittings to other areas.
For ease of handling the large screen element was constructed as sections which were then assembled on site. The glazing was retained within the framework by screw-fixed angle section beading.
Exterior Ground Floor Level, to the Garden Room Area
- 1 no Glazed Fixed Side Screen
- 1 no Single Glazed Doorset
- 5 no bi-folding Glazed Door Leaves.
The main requirement from within the design brief was to achieve 1-metre-wide doors leaves which were outside the capacity of many systems. In order to accommodate the oversize folding leaves, we utilised a thermally broken Schuco Jansen steel sliding door system and adapted it by incorporating T-Bar Sections from within the Schuco Jansen Arte range to provide additional strength. Design drawings were submitted to the Schuco Project Office and signed off making this particular bi-folding door one of the largest they had been involved with to date. The opening leaves were suspended from a top track and guided within a base rail and finished to match the other frameworks prior to being glazed with slimline low weight DGU’s.
The feedback received from both the architect and our customer was very complimentary. The solutions we proposed enabled the design brief to be fulfilled. The quality of product and level of service meeting all the expectations of a high end bespoke fabricator. More importantly, the client was said to be delighted.
